Leighton Meester was originally set to play Sara but it was replaced by Minka Kelly, then Meester took the role of Rebecca. Both Alyson Michalka and Cam Gigandet previously starred alongside each other in another Screen Gems film, Easy A. In this movie a deranged college freshman Rebecca becomes obsessed with her new roommate.
